1. What is Google Translator for Firefox?
Google Translator for Firefox is an Add-on for Firefox. You can use this product to translate any texts that you don't understand, to your language. It can be either a text selected or the full website. For more information, visit the add-on's details page on Mozilla homepage.

2. I can't install this add-on. What can I do?
The add-on does not support Firefox versions older than version 3.5. You can always upgrade to the highest possible Firefox version on this page.
It's also possible that you disabled downloading add-ons from unknown websites, to change this go to Tools > Options menu, Security panel, and set what you want on the first checkbox.
If you get this message for another reason, please let me know in the Forums page, "Bug reports" section.

3. Page translation doesn't work!
- The most possible thing is that you are trying to translate a page that is using https protocol. To check this, simply look at the address bar, and check the URL. If it begins with https:// then this is the problem. Unfortunatelly we cannot solve this, since this behaviour is one of Google's security actions.
- It's also possible that you cannot translate the page because Google detected the same language on the page that is chosen in your Options. On the opened tab you can select another source and target languages if you think.

4. I select a text but when I click the Red T / use the Hot-key, the full page gets translated. Why?
It can be because of two reasons:
 - the text you've selected is longer than 38000 characters, and in the Options, "The selected text if possible, otherwise the full page (recommended)" option from the second group of options, or
 - in the Options "Always the full page" is selected in the second group of options.

5. Why doesn't the hot-key work?
It can be because on your Firefox an Add-on already uses the selected Hot-key, or the hot-key you've chosen is a predefinied Firefox hot-key. You can change your hot-key in the Options.

6. This Red T annoys me very much here next to the search bar. What can I do?
Go to View > Toolbars > Customize... menu, and drag-and-drop the Red T whereever you want. It can be either one of the visible Firefox bars, or you can drop it into the popped up 'Customize...' window to hide it. Remember that hiding the Red T means, that you will not be able to use the Translator with only one click.

7. I cannot move the Red T. Why?
It's because your Firefox version is 3.5 or 3.6. In these versions statusbar icon is in use, and this cannot be moved. However you can hide it in the Options menu.

8. Why do I get "The selected text may not be longer than 1100 characters!" message?
You can get this message, if you selected a text which is longer than 1100 characters, and you:
 - right-clicked, and clicked on "Translate this text with Google Translate", or
 - clicked on the Red T / pressed the Hot-key and in the Options, you've selected "Always the selected text" on the second group of options.
Another reason can be if you are using a non-release version of Firefox (Nightly, Beta etc.). Add-Ons cannot disable multiprocessing in these versions, so this Add-On cannot get webpage content from them. (For more, see 9. Is multiprocessing Firefox supported?.)
If you get this message for another reason, please let me know in the Forums page, "Bug reports" section.

9. Is multiprocessing Firefox supported?
Currently, no, the Add-On disables Firefox's multiprocessing capability explicitly. The solution for this is under development, you can track it here.
